Agreement

Terms of Service

Effective August 13, 2026

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Vertisova, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of Service

Vertisova is a posture monitoring application that uses device motion sensors and, when enabled by you, the front camera to detect posture quality, analyse body posture (neck, shoulders, and back), and estimate screen distance. The app provides real-time feedback, local notifications, and statistics to help you understand posture habits.

Usage Rules

  • You may use the app only for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • You must not misuse, exploit, bypass, overload, tamper with, or attempt to break the app.
  • You must not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decode, extract, inspect, trace, copy, clone, reskin, repackage, distribute, or create derivative works from the app, except where mandatory law does not allow that restriction.
  • You must not use this app for illegal activity or to collect data about another person without lawful consent.
  • You must not use Vertisova code, protected expression, branding, workflows, feature combinations, user interface, documentation, assets, or trade dress to build or support a competing or substantially similar product without written permission.
  • You must not use the app or related materials for artificial intelligence, machine-learning, dataset creation, automated code generation, scraping, crawling, indexing, or similar automated analysis without written authorization.

Account and Access

  • Google Sign-In is optional and used for cloud sync of your data.
  • You are responsible for account activity and maintaining access to your Google account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access at any time, for any lawful reason, without prior notice.
  • Accounts found to be abusing the service may be banned.

Battery Usage

When background monitoring is enabled, Vertisova may run a foreground service and request battery optimization exemption. This can increase battery usage. Actual battery impact depends on device model, monitoring duration, system settings, and whether the camera is active.

Data and Cloud Sync

  • Posture data is stored locally on your device by default.
  • If you sign in, statistics and settings may sync to Firebase Cloud Firestore.
  • You may clear local history from Settings and delete cloud data as described below.
Health disclaimer: Vertisova is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any disease, injury, or condition, and must not be used for those purposes. If you have pain, numbness, dizziness, or a diagnosed spine or nerve condition, follow the advice of your healthcare professional rather than the app.

Accuracy and Reliability

Vertisova estimates posture from ordinary phone motion sensors and, when you switch it on, from an on-device camera model. These are approximations, not measurements, and they can be wrong. Scores, angles, distances, alerts, and recommendations may be inaccurate, delayed, incomplete, or missing entirely: the app may report good posture while yours is poor, report poor posture while yours is fine, or fail to alert you at all.

How well it works depends on your device and its sensors, where the phone sits, lighting, clothing, camera angle, your build, and how you are seated. It is an aid to self-awareness and nothing more. Do not rely on it as a measurement, as a diagnosis, or as a warning system, and do not use it to make decisions about your health. Nothing in the app is a promise that any particular reading is correct or that any alert will be delivered.

Monitoring also pauses on its own where the reading cannot mean anything: while the screen is off, and while the phone lies still and face-up on a flat surface, where its angle describes the surface rather than your posture. Paused periods count as neither good nor poor posture, so your statistics cover the time the app could actually observe rather than every minute of the day. That detection is itself an estimate and may pause while you are holding the phone, or fail to pause when you are not. It can be switched off under Settings → Monitoring → Pause on a flat surface.

Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Abdullah Alhariri / KINGKIMABDU shall not be liable for damages arising from use of the app, inaccurate readings, battery drain, data loss, service interruption, account issues, or health outcomes.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you actually paid for it; Vertisova is supplied free of charge, so that amount is zero.

This does not affect statutory rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law — in Germany in particular under §§ 327 ff. and 434 ff. BGB — and nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, or under product-liability law.

Third-Party Services and Changes

Vertisova integrates with services governed by their own terms, including Google Terms of Service and Firebase Terms of Service. These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules and the CISG. To the extent permitted, venue is Germany. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of habitual residence remain unaffected, and where mandatory law so provides you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect and that provision is applied in the narrowest enforceable form. A failure or delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may. These terms, together with any separate written agreement signed by Abdullah Alhariri, are the entire agreement about the app.

Data handling

Privacy Policy

Optional cloud sync

Your privacy matters. This section explains what data Vertisova collects, how it is used, where it is stored, and which choices you have.

Data We Collect

  • Account information: email address, display name, profile photo URL, and Firebase Authentication user ID, only if you sign in with Google.
  • Sensor data: accelerometer readings used to calculate device tilt angle and posture quality while monitoring is active.
  • Camera data: front camera frames used only for on-device face detection (to estimate screen-to-face distance) and on-device pose detection (to analyse body posture) when you enable the camera. Frames are processed live and never stored or transmitted.
  • Posture statistics: daily posture checks, good posture count, alert count, posture score, body-posture score, seven-day average, and improvement trends.
  • Hour-by-hour breakdown: the same daily counters split across the 24 hours of the local day, recorded only while Smart Insights is switched on and used to answer "when" questions. The analysis runs on your own device; the breakdown itself is backed up with your other statistics if, and only if, you are signed in.
  • App preferences: thresholds, notification settings, language, first day of week, appearance theme, camera mode, onboarding status, and monitoring status.
  • App integrity signals: when the app talks to its Firebase backend, Google Play services issues a short-lived token confirming the request came from a genuine, unmodified install. The check is about the copy of the app, not about you, and the token carries no posture, camera, or account data.

How We Use Data

  • To provide posture monitoring and corrective alerts.
  • To estimate screen distance when camera mode is enabled.
  • To analyse your body posture (neck, shoulders, and back) from the camera while the app is open.
  • To generate daily, weekly, and trend statistics.
  • To find patterns in your own history for Smart Insights — the time of day posture tends to slip, whether reminders coincide with better hours, weekdays against days off. This is ordinary statistics computed on the device; no external or generative AI service is involved, and nothing is sent anywhere in order to compute it. If you are signed in, the hour-by-hour breakdown is included in your cloud backup along with the rest of your statistics, so your patterns survive a reinstall.
  • To sync settings and statistics across devices if you sign in.
  • To maintain Android background monitoring when you enable it.
  • To confirm that requests reaching the Vertisova backend come from a genuine copy of the app rather than an impersonator.

Storage

  • Local data is stored on your device using app storage.
  • Cloud data is stored only if you sign in and sync through Firebase Cloud Firestore.
  • Cloud data may include daily posture stats, the hour-by-hour breakdown behind Smart Insights, app settings, display name, email, profile photo URL, and last-seen timestamp.
  • Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • Firestore security rules are designed to restrict each authenticated user to their own documents.

Camera and Biometrics

Camera access is optional and manually enabled by the user. Camera frames are processed in real time on the device and are not stored, saved, or transmitted. Vertisova uses face detection to estimate distance and pose detection to analyse body posture; it does not retain images, facial features, biometric templates, or body-pose data. Body posture detection works only while the app is open, not in the background.

Children

Vertisova is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

Retention and Your Choices

  • Local data is retained until you clear it in Settings, delete the account in the app, or uninstall the app.
  • Cloud data is retained until you delete cloud data, delete your account, or request deletion. Clearing your stats while signed in also removes the synced copy of those statistics.
  • You can sign out of Google from Settings.
  • You can revoke camera and notification permissions in Android system settings.
  • You can re-enable battery optimization in Android system settings.
  • You can stop monitoring from the app or persistent notification.
  • You can turn Smart Insights off in Settings → Smart features. Doing so stops the hour-by-hour recording outright rather than merely hiding the results, and the app offers to delete what it already collected. Clearing your stats removes it as well.
  • You can export your statistics, your settings, or both to a file of your choosing in Settings → Backup, and restore such a file later. This covers data portability whether or not you have an account. A backup file is plain, unencrypted JSON that lives outside the app wherever you saved it, so looking after it is your responsibility; restoring merges into what you already have and never lowers or erases an existing figure.

Third-Party Services

Vertisova uses Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication, Firebase Cloud Firestore, Google ML Kit, and Firebase App Check with the Google Play Integrity API. Google ML Kit face detection and pose detection run on device for this app and do not send camera frames to Google servers. App Check verifies that backend requests come from a genuine copy of the app; it does not identify you or read your data.

Android access

Device Permissions

User controlled

Vertisova requests Android permissions only to provide posture monitoring, alerts, optional sign-in, and optional cloud sync.

Camera

Used for optional front-camera face detection (screen distance) and pose detection (body posture). Camera mode is user-initiated and processed on device.

Motion Sensors

Used to calculate posture angle and detect posture quality while monitoring is active. Android grants the accelerometer to every app without asking, so this is listed for completeness rather than because a permission is requested for it.

Foreground Service

Allows continuous background posture monitoring with a visible persistent notification.

Notifications

Used for posture alerts and monitoring controls. Vertisova does not send external push notifications.

Battery Optimization

Requested so Android is less likely to stop monitoring. You may re-enable optimization in system settings.

Boot Completed

Used to resume monitoring after restart if monitoring was active before the device rebooted.

Wake Lock

Helps the app complete monitoring checks reliably while the foreground service is active.

Vibration

Used by the posture alerts you have enabled, and by the small tick the angle and interval sliders give as they pass each step. Buttons and other controls answer a tap with the system click sound only, which your device’s own touch-sounds setting governs.

Internet and network state

Used only for optional Google Sign-In, Firebase authentication, and cloud sync. With no account signed in, no posture data leaves the device.

Not requested: Vertisova does not request microphone, location, contacts, storage, or biometric access. Camera access is the only sensitive permission it asks for, it is optional, and frames are analysed on the device.

Account control

Delete Account and Data

In-app deletion

Delete Your Vertisova Account

  1. Open Vertisova.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Sign in first if you are not already signed in.
  4. Open the account section.
  5. Choose Delete account and confirm.

What Is Deleted

  • Your Vertisova Firebase Authentication account.
  • Your synced Firestore profile data, including display name, email, profile photo URL, and last-seen timestamp.
  • Your synced posture statistics stored in Firestore.
  • Your synced app settings stored in Firestore.
  • Your local Vertisova app data on the device where deletion is performed.

What Is Not Deleted

  • Your Google account itself is not deleted.
  • Data outside Vertisova that is controlled by Google or Firebase under their own policies is not directly managed from the app.

Retention Period

Vertisova is designed to delete the account and associated app data immediately after you confirm deletion in the app. We do not intentionally retain Vertisova account profile data, synced posture statistics, or synced settings after deletion completes.

Delete Some Data Only

  • Delete cloud data removes synced Firestore profile, statistics, and settings while keeping sign-in available. It also clears this device’s local history, so the data is not uploaded again on the next sync.
  • Clear All Stats removes your posture statistics: from this device, and while you are signed in from your cloud backup as well, so the next sync cannot restore them. Your settings, your profile and your account are left in place.
If you cannot access the app and want to request deletion, contact Abdullah Alhariri from the email address associated with your Vertisova account.

Those third-party rights do not grant permission to use Vertisova proprietary code, assets, branding, or product design.
  • Unauthorized use may result in takedown requests, injunctions, damages, recovery of costs and attorney fees where available, account or access termination, and any other remedies permitted by law.
